As such, this is an excellent time for reflection and contemplation. Either you’ve started out strong, made good waiver wire choices, and are well placed for the upcoming play offs… or you’ve screwed the proverbial pooch (good god, where did that idiom come from? Wait, no. Don’t tell me) and need to claw your way back into relevance.In this week’s Fantasy Football Forum, we’re going to discuss some options for both those scenarios. First up, players to go after if you need to win NOW:QB - Sam DarnoldThe Sixth Sense himself very well could be on your waiver wire as we speak since he’s only around 25% owned. Yes, he looked horrific Monday against the Patriots. Get over it. Everyone looks horrific against the Patriots Eric Kush Jersey , and former Chicago OC Adam Gase did him no favors in that game. That said, Sammy faces a middling Jacksonville defense this week and should be an OK start. However, you’re not excited about him for this week. You’re excited for what’s to come. Miami, Giants, Washington, Oakland, Cinci, Miami. That’s his next 6 match ups, and in case you don’t know, that’s CAKE. Darnold can be a significant help to a QB needy team over the second half of the season. If that’s you, I’d seriously suggest picking him up.WR – DaeSean HamiltonJoe Flacco is… well, he’s trash. We all know that, but the fact remains that he was supporting a strong WR2 in Emmanuel Sanders. Well, Sanders has gone to greener pastures in a trade with San Francisco. Obviously this means that Courtland Sutton will probably get more looks, but it also clears the way for DaeSean Hamilton. The second year receiver more or less fits the Sanders mold, and should step right into his role in the offense. Will he be as productive as the 31 year old former superstar? Time will tell. The opportunity is there though, and at less than 10% owned, he’s worth an add for a WR needy team.TE – Jacob HollisterBig Will Dissly was having a break out season before having it derailed AGAIN by a season ending injury. You gotta feel for the guy. Many thought Luke Wilson would be the next man up for Seattle, but it ended up being Hollister. The former Patriot saw 6 targets from Russell Wilson last week. He didn’t manage much in the way of yards, but the usage is promising. Tight End is a wasteland, so there’s a good chance you’re in dire need. If that’s the case, Hollister may be worth an add, especially as he faces a barely there Atlanta pass defense who gave up 50 yards and a TD to Gerald Everett last week.Now http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-roquan-smith-jersey , if your team is sitting pretty with a winning record heading into the second half of the season, good for you! But the work’s not done. Now is the time to start looking for players to stash who could come up big in the second half and propel your already good team to a championship:RB – Kenyan DrakeYeah, yeah. He’s a Dolphin. Yeah, yeah. He’s not even the starter anymore. But unless you’ve been living under a rock the past few weeks, you’ve heard all the trade rumors swirling around Drake. Miami has been vocal about the fact that he’s on the trade block, and multiple teams have been confirmed to have inquired about him. There’s a chance he’s on your waiver wire, as he’s only about 55% owned. If he’s there, scoop him up. If he’s owned, consider working a trade for him. Don’t give up anything you need though. This is still a speculative stash. Maybe a WR4 with a recognizable name get’s it done. Don’t sell the farm, or even a good chicken, but do look into getting him on your team.WR – DeVante ParkerUm, pretty much everything I said about Drake applies to Parker as well. Of course, Parker has been producing a bit more lately, so you might have to give up more to get him if he’s owned. The good news though, is that he’s only rostered in about 25% of leagues. So go snag him if he’s available!RB – Le’Veon BellThis one is going to take some doing to pull off. He’s owned, and he’s starting for whoever owns him. He was likely a late 1st round or early 2nd round pick in a redraft league. You aren’t buying him cheap. But, he has been under performing compared to expectations. So if you have depth at a position that the Bell owner needs, consider packaging your RB2 and a say, a WR2 and get Bell on your team pronto! Remember how I talked about Sammy Darnold and his CAKE schedule coming up? Well, Bell gets that schedule too. Go get him!Moving on, let’s have a quick check in on the WCG League of Champions (comprised of the division winners and top scorers from last year’s WCG Fantasy Tournament)!It’s a pretty competitive league so far, as expected. 12 Angry Bears is leading the way at 5-2, with yours truly nipping at his heals. Also coming off the PUP list is offensive lineman T.J. Clemmings, so that makes all 90 players on Chicago’s offseason roster active. Clinton-Dix is expected to step into the starting safety spot alongside his former college teammate, Eddie Jackson, whereas Clemmings will join a group of offensive lineman trying to earn a spot as a reserve. T.J. has battled injuries throughout his NFL career, but he does have 32 starts in 41 career games since 2015, most of which came in 2015 and 2016 with the Vikings. In other Bears’ injury news, tight end Adam Shaheen remains sidelined with a sore back, and rookie wide out Riley Ridley is still nursing that sore hamstring. Neither injury is expected to be serious and neither injury will prevent these two from making the 53-man roster. The Shaheen injury is unfortunate as the coaches were impressed after seeing him in OTAs (déjà vu right?), but in his absence the coaches have been able to see more from the other tight ends on the roster. Converted o-lineman Bradley Sowell has benefited from the extra reps at Shaheen’s Y position and he’s looked good. Tight end Trey Burton and rookie wide out Emanuel Hall have both been practicing Bennie Fowler III Jersey , but since they are coming off hernia surgery the Bears are being cautious with them both. Receiver Jordan Williams-Lambert has also been out with a hamstring.Before I sign off, I wanted to give a quick kicker update as it seems both Elliott Fry and Eddy Pineiro are matching each other kick for kick. The two are alternating days at camp, and so far each kicker missed one kick on their first practice and two at their second. If they both stay even in the accuracy department, then the bigger leg of Pineiro gives him the edge.

So yeah, let’s throw one more log onto that still-burning fire!Both fanbases experienced dissatisfaction with the general manager’s performance at their respective trade deadlines.Eagles fans are not happy that the Eagles’ only move on Tuesday occurred about 12 hours before, when they dealt a 2021 fourth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for edge rusher Genard Avery. With needs at so many positions — wide receiver, defensive tackle and cornerback chief among them — it seems inconceivable that Roseman stood pat at the deadline, especially when the Birds had been linked to so many of the big names out there.But perhaps there is something telling about this year’s trade deadline that should impact your thoughts about what the Eagles did or, more accurately, didn’t do.No one else did anything either.Despite lots of hype and lots of big names being bandied about in the hours leading up to 4 p.m. ET, only one of those big names went somewhere Womens Nelson Agholor Jersey , New York Jets defensive tackle Leonard Williams to the New York Giants, in exchange for a third and fifth round pick in 2021. That’s an awfully steep price for a guy on an expiring contract, and if the Giants to sign him to an extension, that fifth rounder becomes a fourth.Yowza. Paying through the nose seemed to be the mantra at the deadline this year. Let’s consider the rumor mill. Would you have felt comfortable if Roseman dealt a second round pick to the Jets for Robby Anderson, or a first rounder for Darius Slay? Would a second round pick for Broncos cornerback Chris Harris made you feel good? How about a first for Patrick Peterson? You could argue they should have swapped a 6th or 7th rounder to the Patriots for Michael Bennett, but adding Avery for a fourth in 2021 is better for the team’s future, no? Jalen Ramsey sure would have been awesome, but at the cost of two first rounders and a fourth rounder? How about a second round pick for the 30-year-old Mohammad Sanu, or a third and fourth rounder for Emmanuel Sanders and a five?These kinds of prices never seemed conducive to deals getting done. Selling GMs decided they’d rather get a compensatory draft pick and let a free agent walk than take what they felt was less-than market value for their players now. You can argue they acted stupidly and, in many cases, you’d be right Zach Ertz Jersey , but it’s what they decided. It’s not as simple as saying, “Howie Roseman should have done something. He didn’t so he sucks.” If the sellers want you to rip your lungs out in order to get a deal consummated, maybe it’s better that the buyer doesn’t go ahead and do that.So the Eagles will instead rely on injured players to return to the field. DeSean Jackson might play this week, although it’s fair to wonder how effective he’ll be playing with his abdomen injury the rest of the season. Timmy Jernigan, Cre’von LeBlanc, Avonte Maddox, and Nigel Bradham could all be back soon, as well. Andre Dillard is playing effectively in Jason Peters’ absence, but when Peters comes back, that will be a big add too, as will Darren Sproles in the return game.If there is anything to criticize Roseman for it is for allowing the team to be in the position to need upgrades at some of these positions in the first place. The secondary has been a MASH unit, too. But relying on DeSean as your only speed guy, and coming into the season with a seeming lack of playmakers at edge rusher were known items of concern. You could also argue Roseman should have beaten the Seahawks’ offer of two players and a third round pick to the Texans for Jadeveon Clowney earlier in the season as well.Roseman probably assumed he’d be able to make a deadline deal like he did for Golden Tate last year. But it’s also important to remember that the Tate deal did not work out, and there’s no sense adding a player for the sake of adding a player. It had to be the right player at a price in which Roseman wasn’t getting his eyes gouged out.So yeah, it stinks the Eagles didn’t make any moves. That wide receiver corps looks scary-bad without Jackson. The defensive tackle situation is ominous. The secondary remains a huge question mark. You can blame the general manager for creating the conditions in which the Eagles found themselves yesterday, and sure, you can call them losers at the trade deadline. They certainly didn’t win. But on a day in which virtually no one did anything, you could also call the entire league losers, too. It takes two parties to make a deal happen, and yesterday, Roseman had no dance partner.Eagles Fans Rooting Guide for NFL Week 5 Games Here’s a look at which teams Philadelphia Eagles fans should be rooting for during NFL Week 5 games.EAGLES GAMEMinnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles: Big game. The reality, however, is that the Johnson chart is still largely accurate. For example, for the 105 draft trades that have taken place in the last three years, the Johnson chart has been within 5% of the predicted value in 54 cases and within 10% in 78 cases. That’s remarkable for such an old instrument, and most of the “errors” come from the end of the chart, where picks in the fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds are being swapped hastily. There is less value to be found in these picks, and so a few points of irregularity here or there make a bigger swing in the total percentage of value lost or gained.Of course, another advantage to using the Johnson chart is that there are calculators readily available online to help determine pick value Eric Kush Jersey , and so I only need to check the math--I do not need to do it all by hand myself. The only other chart system that has such convenience is the Chase Stuart chart, and that is simply not a tool that matters when it comes to predicting which picks will be traded for what value.I’ve covered this before, and it remains true. However, there is a third option, and that option comes in the form of the work done by Rich Hill. Hill writes for Windy City Gridiron’s sibling site, Pats Pulpit. Hill has a new chart, more or less reverse-engineered from trades that took place after the new CBA went into effect. It attempts to construct how actual GMs value actual picks, and so it is functionally superior to the theoretical work done by Stuart. Using the sample of the last three years of pick-only trades, and using the version of Hill’s chart available through Drafttek for 2019, we find that Hill is within 5% of the predicted value of picks 55 times, and within 10% of the predicted value 80 times. In other words, he had two more “hits” about the Johnson chart. Essentially, both charts hold up impressively well across the first couple of rounds, but in later rounds things get messier. Most of the big misses involve picks after #150, and they deal with very slim total margins.For example, the Johnson chart only misses by more than 10% on 3 trades out of 32 in the first two rounds. One of these is the ridiculous overpay the Jets made to trade up to spot #3 in 2018, and another is Panthers overpaying to trade with the Seahawks in order to take Greg Little. The final miss? The Bears got too good a deal on their trade to draft Anthony Miller in 2018. Meanwhile, the Hill chart misses with those three picks as well. However, it also misses on other picks at the top of the draft. The Hill chart has the Bears as underpaying the 49ers by a considerable degree (they paid 89% of the Hill chart’s value for #2, whereas the Johnson chart has the Bears/49ers trade as almost a perfect breakeven proposition), and it also has the Bills as overpaying the Bucs by 29% to draft Josh Allen. Additionally, it thinks the Steelers overpaid the Broncos by 18% to take Devin Bush. These three trades are fine by Johnson’s chart.Why the difference? I think Rich Hill is trying too hard to make sense. When he is using past trades to calculate current value, an even mathematical progression of value makes sense. However, GMs do not seem to value picks in the top ten evenly. They place disproportionate value on them Womens Eddie Goldman Jersey , and that means that the steep curve of the Johnson chart is more likely to hold up precisely because it does not make as much “sense” in objective terms.TrendsOn another note, it is worth pointing out that across these three years, the Patriots are the team most likely to give away higher picks for less than what Hill predicts their market value to be, followed closely by the 49ers and the Jets. Obviously, with high-end picks being overvalued by many measures, it makes sense that some teams would accept a lower price. However, just because it seems to work for the Patriots does not mean it is a proven strategy, as the other two teams on that list prove. It’s hard to claim the strategy adopted by San Francisco and New York are netting them impressive results, at least so far. By contrast, it is interesting to note that only one team has multiple trades forward where its GM beat the Hill values over these three years, and that’s the Chicago Bears’ Ryan Pace. On the other side, only one team was able to get an above-predicted return for selling its pick more than once--the Baltimore Ravens. Finally, only the Buffalo Bills overpaid more than once. However Marcus Cooper Jersey , there is not a lot in the way of “pattern” beyond that. Essentially, the Johnson chart, or something like it, holds sway across most of the draft. Rich Hill is getting closer and closer to cracking the code on the new values GMs are using post-2011 CBA.Ultimately, nobody is owning the trade market, but an argument could be made that Ryan Pace is doing a better job than most of his peers in maneuvering through the draft. It is also true that there is no obvious sign that teams succeed or fail on the basis of how they trade. For example, the Patriots have both overpaid to trade up and taken less than market value to trade down. However, they seem to be doing fine. The Bills and Jets have the same pattern, and they cannot boast nearly the same outcomes.

Facing the NFL’s stingiest defense, Foles tossed a 2-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate on fourth down with 56 seconds remaining.But no matter how far Foles can take the Eagles, it probably won’t change his standing on the team. Wentz is the franchise quarterback. He finished third in NFL MVP voting in his second season as a pro. He returned quickly after surgery to repair two torn knee ligaments, started 11 games and posted career highs in completion rate (69.6 percent) and passer rating (102.2) despite battling inconsistency and injury.“He’s the guy we drafted and moving forward, he’s our quarterback,” coach Doug Pederson said, repeating the same thought several times.The Eagles must decide by mid-February if they want to exercise a $20 million option to keep Foles for 2019. Last year, with the secondary in flames Wilbert Montgomery Jersey , Avonte Maddox, Cre’Von LeBlanc and Rasul Douglas stepped up and provided enough stability to help the Eagles go on a playoff run.This year, if the Birds are going to go on another Super Bowl run, they’re going to need some unheralded players to step up. Below are three who have their flaws and question marks, but also a tremendous upside that could help the team soar in 2019.Boston Scott - RBTwo weeks ago, Corey Clement seemed to be the obvious choice to be the Eagles’ No. 3 back, were he healthy enough. But Clement hasn’t been able to get on the field, and that has given players like Boston Scott a chance to shine and potentially take Clement’s job. Scott has shown a solid ability to catch the ball so far this off-season, and getting a comp to the great Darren Sproles is certainly a feather in his cap. Scott, who played for Louisiana Tech and was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 6th round of last year’s draft, was signed by the team in Week 15 of last year from New Orleans’ practice squad. He rushed for 1,840 yards and 14 TDs during his college career and was a return specialist as well.Scott appears to be the front-runner to get the first reps as the Eagles’ punt returner (kick returning in the NFL generally doesn’t exist anymore) and if Pederson’s accolades are any indication, he could enter the season as the team’s No. 3 running back.Corey Clement - RBCorey Clement was never quite right last season. The undrafted free agent surprised everyone in ‘17 when he rushed for 321 yards and 4 TDs and caught four balls for 100 yards and a TD in Super Bowl 52. Last year, he was expected to be a major part of the running game Womens Harold Carmichael Jersey , but as injuries sidelined Darren Sproles and Jay Ajayi, Clement was dealing with nagging injuries of his own and rushed for only 259 yards last season, just 3.8 yards per attempt. He also caught just 22 balls out of the backfield, and saw his yards per reception drop from 12.3 his rookie season to 8.7.Clement has now become an afterthought, battling Wendell Smallwood for the No. 4 running back job. Jordan Howard, added via trade, will get most of the carries on the ground, Miles Sanders, one of the team’s second-round picks this year, is expected to get a lot of action on the ground and in the passing game, too, and now Scott is essentially being groomed as Sproles’ replacement.Clement never seemed to be totally healthy last season and, so far this off-season, Clement’s injuries are still a concern. But then he tore his Achilles in pre-draft workouts and the Eagles spent a second round pick on Jones, red-shirting him for his rookie season in the NFL.After a long road back to the field, Jones missed large portions of last year, playing in just nine games and, when he did play, he wasn’t terribly effective. He certainly didn’t play up to the level of a potential first round draft pick. But so far this off-season, Eagles coaches are high on his performance.The Eagles have a loaded group of cornerbacks already. Jalen Mills, Ronald Darby, Rasul Douglas, Cre’Von LeBlanc and Avonte Maddox can all play. But the talent is there for Jones to be better than all of these players and Ron Jaworski Jersey , if he reaches his ceiling, could be an impact player in Jim Schwartz’ secondary.Andrew SendejoIt was two seasons ago Sendejo was rated as the 11th best safety in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, but all we remember is him getting steamrolled by LeGarrette Blount during the Eagles’ 38-7 dismantling of Minnesota in the NFC Championship Game. Last year, Sendejo started the first five games before a groin injury ended his season.
