Russell Wilson Womens Leonard Floyd Jersey , Prince Amukamara returned an interception 49 yards for a touchdown and the Chicago Bears beat the Seattle Seahawks 24-17 Monday night to give coach Matt Nagy his first career victory.Mack, who landed with Chicago after a blockbuster trade with Oakland in September, had a strip-sack in the first half and consistently pressured Wilson in another dominant performance.Amukamara jumped the route on a pass intended for Rashaad Penny near midfield for his first career touchdown, making it 24-10 with 6:37 left. It was his first interception since 2015 with the New York Giants.Danny Trevathan then stripped Wilson with his second sack of the game. The Bears’ Leonard Floyd recovered the fumble, and Chicago hung on after blowing a 20-point lead in a season-opening loss to a hobbled Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The Seahawks (0-2) lost for just the second time in nine Monday night games under coach Pete Carroll.Wilson has been sacked six times in each game this season. With the Bears applying constant pressure and his receivers struggling to get open, the four-time Pro Bowl quarterback completed 22 of 36 passes for 226 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.Chicago’s Mitchell Trubisky was 25 of 34 for 200 yards. The No. 2 overall pick in last year’s draft, Trubisky threw touchdown passes to Trey Burton on Chicago’s first possession and rookie Anthony Miller early in the fourth quarter. But he was also intercepted two times by Shaquill Griffin. The Bears presented longtime linebacker Brian Urlacher with his Ring of Excellence for being inducted into the Hall of Fame. The ceremony came after an ugly first half that saw Trubisky get picked off twice and Wilson get sacked five times. But the Bears managed to take a 10-3 lead to the locker room.Trubisky gave them a 7-0 lead when he shoveled to Trey Burton from the 3 on Chicago’s first possession, finishing a 96-yard drive. He also led a drive to the Seattle 7, only to throw two incomplete passes — one that should have been picked off by Justin Coleman — before Cody Parkey kicked a 25-yard field goal to make it 10-0 with just over a minute left in the half. The Seahawks didn’t score until Sebastian Janikowski nailed a 56-yard as the half ended.NATIONAL ANTHEMSeahawks defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson and offensive tackle Duane Brown stayed off the field during the national anthem, something they did in the opener and preseason.INJURIESBears: RB Tarik Cohen suffered an ankle injury. … DT Akiem Hicks walked off gingerly with two minutes left after he was hurt rushing the quarterback.UP NEXTSeahawks: Host Dallas on Sunday.Bears: Visit Arizona on Sunday.___ Welcome to week 8 everyone! Jeff is out of town, so I’ll be taking over main hosting duties this week.I know, I don’t like it either, but we’re just going to have to make the best of it, ok?If you’re in any kind of sensible Fantasy Football League, this is the half-way point. As such, this is an excellent time for reflection and contemplation. Either you’ve started out strong, made good waiver wire choices, and are well placed for the upcoming play offs… or you’ve screwed the proverbial pooch (good god, where did that idiom come from? Wait, no. Don’t tell me) and need to claw your way back into relevance. In this week’s Fantasy Football Forum, we’re going to discuss some options for both those scenarios. First up, players to go after if you need to win NOW:QB - Sam DarnoldThe Sixth Sense himself very well could be on your waiver wire as we speak since he’s only around 25% owned. Yes, he looked horrific Monday against the Patriots. Get over it. Everyone looks horrific against the Patriots Eric Kush Jersey , and former Chicago OC Adam Gase did him no favors in that game. That said, Sammy faces a middling Jacksonville defense this week and should be an OK start. However, you’re not excited about him for this week. You’re excited for what’s to come. Miami, Giants, Washington, Oakland, Cinci, Miami. That’s his next 6 match ups, and in case you don’t know, that’s CAKE. Darnold can be a significant help to a QB needy team over the second half of the season. If that’s you, I’d seriously suggest picking him up.WR – DaeSean HamiltonJoe Flacco is… well, he’s trash. We all know that, but the fact remains that he was supporting a strong WR2 in Emmanuel Sanders. Well, Sanders has gone to greener pastures in a trade with San Francisco. Obviously this means that Courtland Sutton will probably get more looks, but it also clears the way for DaeSean Hamilton. The second year receiver more or less fits the Sanders mold, and should step right into his role in the offense. Will he be as productive as the 31 year old former superstar? Time will tell. The opportunity is there though, and at less than 10% owned, he’s worth an add for a WR needy team.TE – Jacob HollisterBig Will Dissly was having a break out season before having it derailed AGAIN by a season ending injury. You gotta feel for the guy. Many thought Luke Wilson would be the next man up for Seattle, but it ended up being Hollister. The former Patriot saw 6 targets from Russell Wilson last week. He didn’t manage much in the way of yards, but the usage is promising. Tight End is a wasteland, so there’s a good chance you’re in dire need. If that’s the case, Hollister may be worth an add, especially as he faces a barely there Atlanta pass defense who gave up 50 yards and a TD to Gerald Everett last week. Now http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-roquan-smith-jersey , if your team is sitting pretty with a winning record heading into the second half of the season, good for you! But the work’s not done. Now is the time to start looking for players to stash who could come up big in the second half and propel your already good team to a championship:RB – Kenyan DrakeYeah, yeah. He’s a Dolphin. Yeah, yeah. He’s not even the starter anymore. But unless you’ve been living under a rock the past few weeks, you’ve heard all the trade rumors swirling around Drake. Miami has been vocal about the fact that he’s on the trade block, and multiple teams have been confirmed to have inquired about him. There’s a chance he’s on your waiver wire, as he’s only about 55% owned. If he’s there, scoop him up. If he’s owned, consider working a trade for him. Don’t give up anything you need though. This is still a speculative stash. Maybe a WR4 with a recognizable name get’s it done. Don’t sell the farm, or even a good chicken, but do look into getting him on your team.WR – DeVante ParkerUm, pretty much everything I said about Drake applies to Parker as well. Of course, Parker has been producing a bit more lately, so you might have to give up more to get him if he’s owned. The good news though, is that he’s only rostered in about 25% of leagues. So go snag him if he’s available!RB – Le’Veon BellThis one is going to take some doing to pull off. He’s owned, and he’s starting for whoever owns him. He was likely a late 1st round or early 2nd round pick in a redraft league. You aren’t buying him cheap. But, he has been under performing compared to expectations. So if you have depth at a position that the Bell owner needs, consider packaging your RB2 and a say, a WR2 and get Bell on your team pronto! Remember how I talked about Sammy Darnold and his CAKE schedule coming up? Well, Bell gets that schedule too. Go get him!Moving on, let’s have a quick check in on the WCG League of Champions (comprised of the division winners and top scorers from last year’s WCG Fantasy Tournament)! It’s a pretty competitive league so far, as expected. 12 Angry Bears is leading the way at 5-2, with yours truly nipping at his heals. Champaign Cubbies Womens Eddie Goldman Jersey , Ya Bish! And my WCG Cohort Jeff Berckes (Peanut Punchers) are just behind at 4-3, And of Course Sam Householder (Golladay Celebrate) is hanging in there at 3-4. It’s still anybody’s league at this point, where even the last place team has scored over 800 points.Taking a look over at the WCG Daily Fantasy League, not much has changed really. BoomShakUrlacher (I think that’s Sam?) is still in the lead, with Jeff sliding into 3rd. I’m currently holding down 7th (biding my time… muhahahahaha!). Typer-Pempo, JamesTravis, Esraem, BrianCarstens, Scork, Roctown and shortbus-74PCF round out the top 10.Daily leagues are a different and super fun way to do fantasy. You essentially draft a new team every week, but there are no player restrictions. You can play whoever you want, regardless of who else is playing them. The only thing limiting your choices, is your player budget. If you haven’t tried it, I highly suggest it! I’m sure we’ll be doing the WCG Daily league next year as well, so give her a join next summer!Good luck to everyone in the second half! As always, this article is here for you to ask lineup questions, or just talk general fantasy football. So, I hope this helped, and have at it!Jeff Berckes is the Fantasy Football writer for Windy City Gridiron, co-hosts the podcast Bears Over Beers, and can be found on twitter @gridironborn.WhiskeyRanger is a freelance graphic artist and Windy City Gridiron Contributor at not-so-large.You can find him on twitter @WhiskeyRanger29.

http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-pouncey-jersey , it looked like things might go the Cardinals’ way. They were up 10-0 after a pair of scoring drives in the first quarter and were in position to at least play a close game in Los Angeles. That changed quickly, however. The Chargers opened the second quarter with a touchdown, Philip Rivers completed his first 25 passes and the Cardinals wound up on the wrong end of a 45-10 final score. Cardinals coach Steve Wilks said “the wheels just sort of fell off a little bit,” which seems like a little bit of an understatement compared to another description he used.“Definitely was embarrassing, definitely not what we want,” Wilks said, via ESPN.com. “This organization, that team in that locker room Womens Isaac Rochell Jersey , those players and coaches, we got to do better.”Wilks said he doesn’t feel like the team quit against the Chargers, which would seem to say a lot about the talent on hand for a 2-9 team. If that determination is shared by team ownership, it will be interesting to see what they do to try to avoid further embarrassment in the future. At a time when U.S. soccer star Carli Lloyd could be moving toward becoming an NFL kicker, she will inevitably meet some resistance. One current NFL player has provided a bit of it with his views on the possibility of a female on the football field.“Sound sweet til somebody block the kick and all of a sudden she on defense,” Chargers receiver Keenan Allen said on Twitter. “Would be like the stampede scene in the lion king movie.”As if it’s not that way with non-female kickers. Plenty of current and historical NFL kickers lack the traditional stature, physique, athletic skills Michael Badgley Jersey , and or/toughness possessed by “normal” football players. Surely, a soccer player (who has to have the ability to throw the ball from the sideline) would fare better than, say, Garo Yepremian in Super Bowl VII. Also, was anyone freaked out about players like Rich Karlis were running around with a completely bare lower leg and foot? Then there’s Bill Gramatica, who was sufficiently awkward and ungainly to tear an ACL while leaping to celebrate after making a field goal.Lloyd’s experience in soccer means that she knows a thing or two about making contact, absorbing contact, and otherwise moving in an agile http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , elusive way to avoid contact. She frankly could be considerably more athletic than more than a few of the kickers currently in the NFL.But at least Allen offered some praise for Lloyd. “She do got a boot tho!” Allen said.Yes she does, and that’s the primary skills that teams are looking for when it comes to kickers. For most kickers, a blocked kick would result in a stampede, with the kicker’s primary goal becoming finding a way to get out of the way.

about the 2019 EaglesNew Ron Jaworski Jersey ,54commentsBGN Radio 61!EDTThere are just under three weeks until the first 2019 Philadelphia Eagles training camp practice begins on Thursday, July 25. Until then, we’re here to help you pass the remaining time in the dead zone. There are many reasons to be excited about the upcoming Eagles season — and that’s a topic we’ll soon be focusing on here at BGN — but today we’re looking at some of the sneaky concerns with this year’s squad. What are some underrated worries you have about this team? (Meaning: not an obvious one like “Carson Wentz’s health.”)John Stolnis and I got together to talk about these issues in the latest BGN Radio podcast episode [CLICK HERE TO LISTEN]. See below for some of the concerns we touched on.Could the offense underachieve? The Eagles have a lot of offensive questions on paper. Stolnis wonders: do they have too many options? What this team’s identity? My skepticism involves Mike Groh and the offensive coaching staff. The Eagles got off to way too many slow starts last season. Will a healthy Carson Wentz and improved surrounding talent fix everything? Or is the coaching staff an issue at all? Also: are we overrating the offensive line? It’s not hard to envision a scenario where it’s one of the better units in the league. But are we not giving enough weight to the fact this is an aging and injured unit? Jason Peters is 37, Jason Kelce considered retirement, and it’s unclear exactly when Brandon Brooks will be back.To what extent is Miles Sanders ready to make an instant impact? Make no mistake: Sanders’ potential is intriguing. But how much is he going to be able to contribute right away http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-malcolm-jenkins-jersey , especially after missing spring practices with a hamstring injury? Unsettled spots on the defenseThe Eagles are counting on a lot of projection at defensive end. Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, and Vinny Curry all had injuries in 2018. And if one of those guys gets hurt again, is Josh Sweat really ready to step up and be a reliable contributor? It just doesn’t seem like the pass rush rotation is bound to be as strong as it was in 2017 and 2018. Who starts in the secondary? Malcolm Jenkins is a lock on the back end. Is Rodney McLeod healthy enough to play Week 1? Is Andrew Sendejo the third safety or do compensatory pick considerations factor in? Who’s starting at cornerback? Will Jalen Mills start the season on PUP? Is Ronald Darby going to be ready? Avonte Maddox is too talented not to be on the field ... but where exactly will he be lining up? There are a lot of questions to be answered. PLUSMore sneaky concerns not already mentioned hereA special shoutout to all the Eagles fans in the Pacific Northwest Debating whether the Eagles should sign Connor BarwinNon-football question: Are fireworks overrated? More accurately, a right tackle.Aflie’s piece on picking a defensive lineman echos what many, including myself, have expressed outside of Iowa’s T.J. Hockenson, which is take the best available talent in the defensive trenches. My hope has been Ed Oliver, and while I have been strong on Hockenson, Oliver has become the want. But I digress. Let us not talk 2019 draft here. Instead, we can get distracted by looking at draft history. ESPN’s Bill Barnwell has kindly ranked the best and worst draft classes based on positions, along with classes he thinks warrant watching to see if they become worthy of the label “best”. After reading his piece, I wondered what the Jaguars did during the years Barnwell found noteworthy. Did they miss opportunities? Did they draft well at the position of focus Donte Moncrief Jersey , or did they draft other positions successfully in those years?Yes, draft success and the Jaguars is mixture with a common flavor of ipecac, and after reading this you will probably feel nauseous. But you are here, and you know you are curious.I am sorry I did this.Quarterback Best Class3rd Place : 19981st Place: 1983Barnwell ranks the class of 2004 second, which, if you are a learned Jaguars fan, is an area where the team should have found their replacement to Mark Brunell. Because Shack Harris took Byron Leftwich the year before, he missed the opportunity to grab Ben Rothlesberger. For context, in 2004, the Jaguars drafted WR Reggie Williams. Keep your helmet on Reggie. Worst Class2013 gets the nod for worst class. Jaguars fan favorite Geno Smith (of which I was not) was part of this class, along with EJ Manuel. I recall this draft because I actually called the EJ Manuel to Buffalo pick. The interesting story behind Barnwell’s selection is the 2013 class has been considered an overall bad draft for all positions. Dave Caldwell’s first draft had him grabbing Luke Joeckel, which at the time was considered a solid pick. Unfortunately, it was the more criticized Eric Fisher pick by the Kansas City Chiefs that has yielded a Pro Bowl offensive tackle. Class to WatchOh 2016. One of many memories that the Jaguars do not draft for quarterback depth, or generally fail when evaluating talent at the position. Patrick Mahomes. Jared Goff. Carson Wentz. Dak Prescott. Sigh. Running BackBest Class3rd place: 19831st place: 1990 Jaguars hero Natrone Means was part of the 1983 class, so from one perspective the Jaguars look smart for grabbing him to help their 1996 playoff run. Barnwell has 1995 as the second best class, and no one should feel bad about the Jaguars drafting Tony Boselli, considering Bill holds this class in such high regard due to Terrell Davis (6th round) and Curtis Martin (3rd round), two players the Jaguars could have theoretically grabbed. In those rounds the Jaguars took Marcus Price (OT) and Bryan Schwartz (LB) respectively. The Jaguars did grab James Stewart later in round 1, a player that did offer quality service for his years in Jacksonville. He did score five touchdowns in one game. Ki-Jana Carter was the overall first selection (Tony was second), which does give pause for thought as to who the Jaguars might have taken had the Cincinnati Bengals gone offensive tackle. Carter tore his ACL during preseason of 2015 and never was the same player. Worst Class (1992)Class to WatchAdd insult to injury as Barnwell has his eyes on the year 2017. Jaguars took Leonard Fournette. Kareem Hunt might drag this draft down, but there is also Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.j.-bouye-jersey , Joe Mixon and Dalvin Cook. Again, sigh. Wide ReceiverBest Class3rd place: 19851st place: 1988 The year is 1996. The highlights are Terrell Owens (3rd) and Marvin Harrison (1st round) taken that year, along with Keyshawn Johnson (an arguable first round bust) and Eric Moulds. The ranking seems more top heavy, and leveraging length of NFL career as opposed to actual production. The Jaguars picked second overall in 1996, grabbing linebacker Kevin Hardy (Keyshawn was taken first). Hardy was a key defensive cog for the Jaguars late 90’s success, and while Harrison had a better overall career it’s hard to criticize the team for not taking a wide receiver that lasted until pick 19. Or not. More on that to come when we look at the best linebacker class.Rather than taking Owens early in round three the Jaguars took cornerback Aaron Beasley. Worst Class1997, led by convicted felon Rae Carruth, yielded some awful talent. Along with Carruth, three receivers who played college ball in the state of Florida were also first round failures: Yatil Green, Ike Hilliard, and Reidel Anthony. All but Carruth were taken before the Jaguars selected Renaldo Wynn with their first pick. The Jaguars only drafted two offensive players in 1997, being tight end Damon Jones and fullback Jamison Shelton. Class to WatchMore to come on this year, 2010, but know the Jaguars decided to pass on Demaryius Thomas, Dez Bryant, Golden Tate, and Antonio Brown. Overall strong pass catching draft. I am not kidding. 2010 is going to be a theme. Oh, and the Jaguars only took one offensive player in this draft: running back Deji Karim. Tight EndBest Class2nd place: 1978Knowing what we all know about the history of the Jaguars ignoring the position, it is a bit surprising the Jaguars actually qualify as a team drafting the position in two of Barnwell’s rankings. 1997 holds the third position, with Tony Gonzalez being the shinning star. Beyond Gonzalez there is not much to applaud, and therefore no criticism to leverage against the Jaguars.Damon Jones lasted four season, and presently coaches offense line at Jacksonville’s Ribault high school. The top class Womens Leonard Fournette Jersey , and remember I warned you, is 2010.This class is capped by Rob Gronkowski (2nd), Jermaine Gresham (1st) and Jimmy Graham (3rd). This was the year of the Tyson Alualu pick at 10, one of many Gene Smith head scratchers. With no 2nd round pick, one might argue D’Anthony Smith in the 3rd instead of Greshman was a miss, but with Marcedes Lewis on the roster maybe it is not as big.The other tight ends on the team were Zach Miller and Zach Potter so maybe I will not be so forgiving. Worst Class (1971) Class to WatchIn 2013, the Jaguars believed Zach Ertz and Travis Kelce were not worth grabbing, though only Ertz was available near selection spot with Jonathan Cyprien going just ahead of him (Kelce was selected just before Dwayne Gratz). The Dave Caldwell era thusly began. Offensive LineBest/Worst Class1994 is third, 1980 second, and 1973 first. Worst class is 1991.Class to WatchAgain. 2010. Again. Sigh. I do not want to talk about it. Defensive LineBest Class2nd place: 19851st place: 1975As if upset that 2010 is getting so much attention, the 2011 draft logs in at third best defensive line draft. You might remember this as the year the Houston Texans took J.J. Watt. Oh, and there is also Cameron Jordan and Ryan Kerrigan. On the interior you have Cameron Heyward and Jurell Casey. Barnwell notes that while Aldon Smith, Muhammad Wilkerson and Robert Quinn have seen a drop in production, early on they made an impact.Present Jaguars defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, taken third overall, also adds to the quality of this draft.Do you recall the Jaguars 2011 draft? If not (how is that even possible), here is Alfie’s summary from 2011. All you need to know: 1) The team traded their second pick to move up and take Blaine Gabbert, 2) The team thought Chris Prosinski was a 4th round gem, and 3) Cecil Shorts III was the best pick of the draft. Worst Class (1982) Class to WatchBarnwell thinks the 2011 class might actually rise in the rankings. Great. As if 2011 was not bad enough LinebackerBest Class2nd place: 19741st place: 1981 Third place is 1996. As already discussed, Kevin Hardy was the Jaguars first pick of this draft, and while a good performer he does not match up to Ray Lewis, Zach Thomas Barry Church Jersey , Tedy Bruschi or Donnie Edwards. For what it is worth, the Jaguars took defensive end Tony Brackens with their second round pick. How critical are you willing to be? Worst ClassThe 2001 class, according to Barnwell, had only one linebacker start more than five season, though there was promise for often injured Dan Morgan. I will call this a win for the Jaguars in spite of the fact they did take two linebackers in 2001: Eric Westmoreland (3rd) and Anthony Denman (7th). Neither made an impactFor the Jaguars, this draft is famous for first round pick Marcus Stroud.Fun fact, 7th round pick Randy Chevrier, the Jaguars final pick in 2001, made a fine career for himself in the CFL playing for the Calgary Stampeders. He was a member of three Grey Cup champion teams, with one being the Edmonton Eskimos. Class to WatchOh 2012, what could have been. A sober Justin Blackmon. Realizing a backup for Blaine Gabbert was needed by taking Russell Wilson in round three instead of Bryan Anger. Not releasing Brandon Marshall. But hey, we got our defensive lineman in Andre “Windmill” Branch in round two!!!Defensive BackBest Class2nd place: 19831st place: 1981Barnwell has 2003 as the third best class, with the likes of Troy Polamalu, Charles Tillman, Asante Samuel, Terence Newman and Marcus Trufant.Jaguars fans might take issue with the omission of 2nd round pick Rashean Mathis not being listed. Jaguars fans might also feel the team’s selection of Byron Leftwich instead of a player like Trufant or Polamalu was ground zero for coach Jack Del Rio’s consistent average results, and the general failure of the team to be a consistent playoff attendee. Some might.Worst Class (1978) Class to WatchSeriously, is Barnwell going to convince me 2010 is in fact worse than 2011? I recall Eric Berry being the guy Jaguars fans wanted to draft. Earl Thomas and Joe Haden are also 2010 alums.Barnwell closes out his article calling 1984 the worst overall class. Best classes are 1996 (3rd), 1981, (2nd) and 1983 (1st). His class to watch is 2011, and for Jaguars fans that may actually be the class we would most like to forget. Take that class of 2010!

questions at his locker after Sunday’s double-doink Womens Eddie Jackson Jersey , which kept his team from advancing in the playoffs.Friday morning, he talked to a national audience, and was even-keeled about the miss (which was officially ruled a blocked kick). During an appearance on NBC’s show, Parkey reiterated that he thought the kick was going through — before it hit the upright and then the crossbar and fell back toward him.“Looking up, I saw it hit the upright and it hit the crossbar, and I’m like, ‘Surely it will go in,’” Parkey said, via the . “Unfortunately it bounced toward me. It’s not who I am.”The miss sparked big reactions from disappointed fans, but Parkey said he has tried to avoid social media in the wake of the game.“A lot of good can come of [social media], and a lot of bad can come of it,” Parkey said. “But at the same time, I’ve gotten a lot of positive messages. Like I said earlier, I feel worse than anybody about missing that kick because I wanted to make it more than anybody. But at the end of the day, I’m going to hold my head high and when things aren’t going my way I’m going to think positive and keep swinging.”He also thanked teammates for having his back, specifically defensive tackle Akiem Hicks http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-allen-robinson-jersey , whom host Savannah Guthrie read a supportive quote from.“I think a lot of teammates stood up for me, from what I’ve heard,” Parkey said. “That just shows you what kind of team we have. It’s a family. It’s a bond. These guys see me working hard every day, and they know all the effort we put into it year round. So it’s really awesome to see that Akiem and everyone else stood up for me like that. I really appreciate it.”Whether they continue to in the future remains to be seen, but the outpouring of support for him has been heartening, from a human perspective. Also coming off the PUP list is offensive lineman T.J. Clemmings, so that makes all 90 players on Chicago’s offseason roster active. Clinton-Dix is expected to step into the starting safety spot alongside his former college teammate, Eddie Jackson, whereas Clemmings will join a group of offensive lineman trying to earn a spot as a reserve. T.J. has battled injuries throughout his NFL career, but he does have 32 starts in 41 career games since 2015, most of which came in 2015 and 2016 with the Vikings. In other Bears’ injury news, tight end Adam Shaheen remains sidelined with a sore back, and rookie wide out Riley Ridley is still nursing that sore hamstring. Neither injury is expected to be serious and neither injury will prevent these two from making the 53-man roster. The Shaheen injury is unfortunate as the coaches were impressed after seeing him in OTAs (déjà vu right?), but in his absence the coaches have been able to see more from the other tight ends on the roster. Converted o-lineman Bradley Sowell has benefited from the extra reps at Shaheen’s Y position and he’s looked good. Tight end Trey Burton and rookie wide out Emanuel Hall have both been practicing Bennie Fowler III Jersey , but since they are coming off hernia surgery the Bears are being cautious with them both. Receiver Jordan Williams-Lambert has also been out with a hamstring. Before I sign off, I wanted to give a quick kicker update as it seems both Elliott Fry and Eddy Pineiro are matching each other kick for kick. The two are alternating days at camp, and so far each kicker missed one kick on their first practice and two at their second. If they both stay even in the accuracy department, then the bigger leg of Pineiro gives him the edge.

Denzel Perryman Jersey , running back Melvin Gordon is inactive for this week's game after suffering an MCL sprain during the third quarter of last weeks contest against the Arizona Cardinals.Other notable names are still Offensive guard Forrest Lamp, who continues to be inactive weeks after being deemed healthy, and veterans Brandon Mebane and Joe Barkadale, both whom are missing time due to personal matters as opposed to injuries. With Gordon missing at least one week, the rushing load will have to be carried by youngsters Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson. Ekeler continues to be one of the most efficient running backs in the entire league while mainting Pro football Focus' highest grade for a running back this season.Jackson only has 12 carries on the season but his 5.3 ypc average is still something to feel positive about, especially after he ripped off a handful of 10+ yard runs in garbage time against the Cardinals.Look for this to be a high-flying game with both teams looking to race to the finish line en route to a victory under the lights. COSTA MESA http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-craig-mager-jersey , Calif. (AP) — It might be time for Melvin Gordon to seriously reconsider his absence from the Los Angeles Chargers.Gordon has held out since the beginning of training camp in hopes of getting a contract extension. The fifth-year running back — along with those who watched Sunday’s 30-24 overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts — saw an offense just as effective and balanced as it was last season. The Chargers averaged 6.0 yards per carry in the running game. Austin Ekeler scored three touchdowns and had a career-best 154 yards from scrimmage, while Justin Jackson rushed for 57 yards. With the success of the run game and the balance of the offense, it looked the same as last year except for Gordon not being there.“When we are balanced, there is no question that is when we play our best,” said Philip Rivers, who passed for 333 yards and three touchdowns. “We can dink-and-dunk it Womens Uchenna Nwosu Jersey , we can line up in two tights and pound it, we can use the hard run-action and get big chunks like we did to Hunter (Henry) and Keenan (Allen).”WHAT’S WORKINGEkeler and left tackle Scott as a duo. Ekeler has transitioned into the lead role and became the first non-drafted player to have over 150 scrimmage yards, two receiving and a rushing TD in the same game in 43 years. The Chargers had 10 carries over 10 yards as the offensive line did an effective job opening holes.Rivers said most of the success on the ground came off a base running play, which allowed the line to open large holes up the middle. The much-maligned line also a good job of giving Rivers time in the pocket for most of the game. Scott was solid for the most part in his first start. An even more encouraging note is that the line was not called for a holding penalty, which was not the case during the preseason. Right tackle Sam Tevi was called for an illegal motion and Scott got flagged for an illegal formation.WHAT NEEDS HELPThe Chargers were ninth against the run and allowed only two 100-yard rushers last season. Indianapolis’ Marlon Mack shredded Los Angeles for 174 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown during the third quarter. That is the most yards a running back has gained against the Chargers since Adrian Peterson set an NFL record with 296 for the Minnesota Vikings in 2007. The Chargers allowed 203 yards to the Colts Russell Okung Jersey , the second most since Lynn took over in 2017.“That’s an area where we have gotten better the past couple seasons, but we took a step back yesterday,” Lynn said. “Anytime a team runs the football that many times for that many yards it is a physical thing and we have to get better.”STOCK UPTy Long punted, kicked an extra point and made a field goal in his first NFL game. He is the first player to do that in his debut since Olindo Mare with Miami in 1997. Long did double duty the past two years with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League, but it is not often done in the NFL.“I’ll be brutally honest with you. It felt exactly like a CFL game. The speed felt the same, everything http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-emanuel-jersey ,” Long said.STOCK DOWNCornerback and punt returner Desmond King, who muffed a punt late in the third quarter. The Colts took over at the Chargers 27 but could not convert the turnover into points when Adam Vinatieri was wide left from 29 yards.King averaged 9.2 yards on punt returns last year and ran one back 73 yards for a touchdown in a Week 13 victory over Pittsburgh. But he has three fumbles with two lost over the past six games, including the playoffs.“He has to make that correction,” Lynn said. “I know he is trying to make a play, but sometimes you have to fair catch and just take the ball where they punt it.”INJUREDCB Michael Davis is expected to miss at least a couple weeks with a hamstring injury. That leaves the Chargers with only three healthy cornerbacks and would necessitate a roster move. … K Michael Badgley, who injured his groin during last Friday’s practice Womens Forrest Lamp Jersey , is questionable for Sunday’s game at Detroit.KEY NUMBER121.3 — Rivers’ passer rating on Sunday after completing 25 of 34 passes. to their baseball counterpart http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-lane-johnson-jersey , the Phillies, this season. Both got off to slow starts, both suffered similar issues with faulty roster construction, and both dealt with a ton of injuries. So yeah, let’s throw one more log onto that still-burning fire! Both fanbases experienced dissatisfaction with the general manager’s performance at their respective trade deadlines.Eagles fans are not happy that the Eagles’ only move on Tuesday occurred about 12 hours before, when they dealt a 2021 fourth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for edge rusher Genard Avery. With needs at so many positions — wide receiver, defensive tackle and cornerback chief among them — it seems inconceivable that Roseman stood pat at the deadline, especially when the Birds had been linked to so many of the big names out there. But perhaps there is something telling about this year’s trade deadline that should impact your thoughts about what the Eagles did or, more accurately, didn’t do.No one else did anything either.Despite lots of hype and lots of big names being bandied about in the hours leading up to 4 p.m. ET, only one of those big names went somewhere Womens Nelson Agholor Jersey , New York Jets defensive tackle Leonard Williams to the New York Giants, in exchange for a third and fifth round pick in 2021. That’s an awfully steep price for a guy on an expiring contract, and if the Giants to sign him to an extension, that fifth rounder becomes a fourth.Yowza. Paying through the nose seemed to be the mantra at the deadline this year. Let’s consider the rumor mill. Would you have felt comfortable if Roseman dealt a second round pick to the Jets for Robby Anderson, or a first rounder for Darius Slay? Would a second round pick for Broncos cornerback Chris Harris made you feel good? How about a first for Patrick Peterson? You could argue they should have swapped a 6th or 7th rounder to the Patriots for Michael Bennett, but adding Avery for a fourth in 2021 is better for the team’s future, no? Jalen Ramsey sure would have been awesome, but at the cost of two first rounders and a fourth rounder? How about a second round pick for the 30-year-old Mohammad Sanu, or a third and fourth rounder for Emmanuel Sanders and a five? These kinds of prices never seemed conducive to deals getting done. Selling GMs decided they’d rather get a compensatory draft pick and let a free agent walk than take what they felt was less-than market value for their players now. You can argue they acted stupidly and, in many cases, you’d be right Zach Ertz Jersey , but it’s what they decided. It’s not as simple as saying, “Howie Roseman should have done something. He didn’t so he sucks.” If the sellers want you to rip your lungs out in order to get a deal consummated, maybe it’s better that the buyer doesn’t go ahead and do that.So the Eagles will instead rely on injured players to return to the field. DeSean Jackson might play this week, although it’s fair to wonder how effective he’ll be playing with his abdomen injury the rest of the season. Timmy Jernigan, Cre’von LeBlanc, Avonte Maddox, and Nigel Bradham could all be back soon, as well. Andre Dillard is playing effectively in Jason Peters’ absence, but when Peters comes back, that will be a big add too, as will Darren Sproles in the return game.If there is anything to criticize Roseman for it is for allowing the team to be in the position to need upgrades at some of these positions in the first place. Certainly injuries are hard to predict http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-fletcher-cox-jersey , and losing Malik and DeSean Jackson for most of the first half was hard to overcome. The secondary has been a MASH unit, too. But relying on DeSean as your only speed guy, and coming into the season with a seeming lack of playmakers at edge rusher were known items of concern. You could also argue Roseman should have beaten the Seahawks’ offer of two players and a third round pick to the Texans for Jadeveon Clowney earlier in the season as well.Roseman probably assumed he’d be able to make a deadline deal like he did for Golden Tate last year. But it’s also important to remember that the Tate deal did not work out, and there’s no sense adding a player for the sake of adding a player. It had to be the right player at a price in which Roseman wasn’t getting his eyes gouged out.So yeah, it stinks the Eagles didn’t make any moves. That wide receiver corps looks scary-bad without Jackson. The defensive tackle situation is ominous. The secondary remains a huge question mark. You can blame the general manager for creating the conditions in which the Eagles found themselves yesterday, and sure, you can call them losers at the trade deadline. They certainly didn’t win. But on a day in which virtually no one did anything, you could also call the entire league losers, too. It takes two parties to make a deal happen, and yesterday, Roseman had no dance partner.Eagles Fans Rooting Guide for NFL Week 5 Games Here’s a look at which teams Philadelphia Eagles fans should be rooting for during NFL Week 5 games.EAGLES GAMEMinnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles: Big game. Eagles win and they’re back on track at 3-2 with a game against New York coming up on Thursday. Good opportunity to get to 4-2 if they don’t mess it up. Dropping the Vikings to 1-3-1 would also be real nice. Root for the Eagles Womens Jake Elliott Jersey , of course.NFC EAST GAMESNew York Giants at Carolina Panthers: Is it impossible to bounce back from 1-3? No. Do I think the Giants are done, though? Yes. The Panthers could be the bigger threats to Philadelphia’s playoff interests here. I wouldn’t mind the Giants getting a very unimpressive win and perhaps getting a little overconfident before hosting the Eagles on Thursday. Also wouldn’t hate the Giants dropping to 1-4 as a consolation prize. Root against the Panthers.Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans: Dear Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt, please have really great games this week. Drop the Cowboys to 2-3. Root for the Texans.Washington Redskins at New Orleans Saints: Seeing the Saints lose wouldn’t be the worst thing but Washington is the bigger threat to the Eagles’ playoff aspirations right now. No brainer to root against them. Root for the Saints.NFC GAMESAtlanta Falcons at Pittsburgh Steelers: Root for the AFC team over the NFC team. Root for the Steelers.Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions: Keep Aaron Rodgers away from the playoffs, please. Root for the Lions.Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers: Need the Cardinals to stay winless so they can get a better draft pick than the Giants/Cowboys. Although you could root for the 49ers to look bad and struggle with C.J. Beathard so they panic trade for Nick Foles. Seems unlikely though. Root for the 49ers.Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks have a chance to spoil LA’s undefeated record. Let’s hope it happens. Root for the Seahawks.DRAFT PICK WATCHBaltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns: The Ravens keep winning, which is bad. Need Baltimore to start losing to make that 2019 second-round pick better for the Eagles. Do us a solid here, Baker Mayfield. Root for the Browns.WHAT’S LEFTTennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills: The Eagles’ loss to the Titans would look even worse if they manage to lose to the Bills. Root for the Titans.Denver Broncos at New York Jets: Really need Sam Darnold to start looking better in order to torture the Giants. Root for the Jets.Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs: The Eagles play the Jags in Week 8. It’d be nice to see cracks in Jacksonville’s armor. Root for the Chiefs.Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals: Need the Bengals to stay ahead of the Ravens. Root for the Bengals.Oakland Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers: Who cares.BYE WEEKSChicago Bears: The Bears return to action next week with a road game in Miami.Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Next up for the Bucs is a road game in Atlanta.

out of the University of Kentucky with the No. 7 overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday evening. Most..." Josh Allen: ‘I love getting to the quarterback’New Jalen Ramsey Jersey ,29commentsEDTThe Jacksonville Jaguars snapped up edge defender Josh Allen out of the University of Kentucky with the No. 7 overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday evening. Most expected Allen to be long gone by the time the Jaguars picked, but as luck would have it thanks to the Oakland Raiders and New York Giants making some wild picks, he fell right in their lap.The addition of Allen has seen some Jaguars fans wondering what kind of role he will fill in the Jaguars 4-3 defensive front, which general manager David Caldwell addressed on Thursday night, but it doesn’t sound like Allen really cares what kind of defensive front he’s playing in.“They get after the quarterback. That’s all I need to hear. I went there on my visit and they said Womens Brandon Linder Jersey , ‘Josh, we get after the quarterback.’ That was all I had to hear,” Allen said in a conference call after he was selected when asked about how he fits into the Jaguars defensive front. “I don’t care about the defense. They can run a 5-12 … I love getting after the quarterback.”Allen looks to be a chess piece as a rookie that Jaguars defensive coordinator Todd Wash can move around or insert into certain formations and fronts on passing downs, especially since Allen is comfortable rushing the passer from a two-point stance and playing standing up just as much as he is in a three-point stance. One thing we will see is Allen and Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue on the field at the same time getting after the quarterback and that’s something Allen is excited about.“We are young. We can grow together. We have veterans in the inside, young guys in the back-end http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-niles-paul-jersey , plus veterans and me and him. I will try to learn from him because he has had a lot of success in the NFL. I’m trying to pick his brain,” Allen said on the call about playing with Ngakoue. “I feel like we can help each other out. He brings stuff to the game when they are blocking him, that frees me. When they are blocking me, he can just be free. I feel like me and him can work hand-in-hand together and we can make a lot of plays and make something special in Jacksonville.”“I have never met him. I have been following him on Instagram,” Allen continued on his new Jaguars teammate Ngakoue. “I am a huge fan of him. I have been watching him ever since Maryland. I’m a big fan Womens Marcell Dareus Jersey , but now I am about to be a big teammate to him.”While many wanted an offensive player with the Jaguars first round pick, like Iowa tight end T.J. Hockenson who went one pick after or Florida offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor who is still available, but adding another pass rusher to fill the void left by Malik Jackson and Dante Fowler was just as important. We’re almost at the midway point of the 2019 NFL season and we’re...*checks notes* ...a perfect .500 on picks!“But Ryan, I want to make money!” You fool. I have essentially spent $0 and thoroughly enjoyed some really terrible football so far this season. Look on my works, ye mighty Josh Lambo Jersey , and despair! How does Week 8 look and what are the best games to throw some money at? Let’s check it out!Note: I used Bovada’s odds on Thursday afternoon.Minnesota Vikings (-17.0) vs. WashingtonThere will be weeping and gnashing of teeth because of how terrible this game is tonight, but I’m going to thoroughly enjoy it until the Vikings miss a meaningless third quarter field goal and win by only 16 points. I can’t wait! But in all seriousness, Minnesota blows out bad teams. Washington is a bad team. You do the math.Bet on the Vikings to win big tonight.New England Patriots (-13.5) vs. Cleveland BrownsThis Patriots defense is going to have its way with Baker Mayfield. Tom Brady has slightly regressed each of the past three or four seasons and Bill Belichick has spent that time building an elite defense. I am absolutely sick about all of this.Bet on the Patriots to win in a blowout.San Francisco 49ers (-6) vs. Carolina PanthersThe Panthers are a sneaky pick to win this game outright — not just cover, but win. I’m not buying it. San Francisco is at home, key players are getting healthy http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-taven-bryan-jersey , and their defense is one of the best in football.Bet on the 49ers to win by a touchdown.Jacksonville Jaguars (-6.5) vs. New York JetsIf Jacksonville can fix their red zone offense, this one won’t even be close. As it stands, I think they win by a touchdown.Bet on the Jaguars to win by at least seven points.Overall: 14-14-0Bet Your Mortgage: 3-4-0

the house by betting on the Bears last week because of Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill‘s shoulder injury got a rude awakening from Brock Osweiler on Sunday.Osweiler’s big game led the Dolphins to an overtime victory over the Bears http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-brian-urlacher-jersey , meaning people who bet big on Chicago lost. And there were a lot of those people: MGM sports book director Jeff Stoneback told ESPN that multiple six-figure bets were placed on the Bears.“There wasn’t much money on the Dolphins at all,” Stoneback said. That’s why, over the course of the week, the point spread moved by as much as six points in some sports books, from the Bears favored by one point to the Bears favored by seven points. All the bets that moved the line in the Bears’ direction lost.William Hill’s U.S. sports books told ESPN that Bears-Dolphins was the most-bet game early on Sunday afternoon, with twice as much money bet on that game as any other, and 85 percent of the money was bet on the Bears. All that money going on the Bears before Tannehill was ruled out raises the question of whether someone with inside information was putting the word out to high-stakes gamblers that Tannehill’s shoulder injury was more serious than his “questionable” designation would suggest. That type of thing is a big concern for the NFL.But just because a starting quarterback is injured, that doesn’t mean a bet against that team is a sure thing. All those bettors who put money on the Bears found that out the hard way. Despite the age of the Johnson chart, it continues to predict high-end trades better than its competitors. However, a new chart is beginning to own the middle of the draft." From The Desk Of...Chicago Bears Draft 2019Examining draft day trades and the value they hold: Part 3New,20commentsDespite the age of the Johnson chart, it continues to predict high-end trades better than its competitors. However, a new chart is beginning to own the middle of the draft.CDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Examining draft day trades and the value they hold: Part 3TwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesPreviously Womens Leonard Floyd Jersey , when I have looked at draft trades, I have defaulted to the Johnson chart, which many people consider outdated. The reality, however, is that the Johnson chart is still largely accurate. For example, for the 105 draft trades that have taken place in the last three years, the Johnson chart has been within 5% of the predicted value in 54 cases and within 10% in 78 cases. That’s remarkable for such an old instrument, and most of the “errors” come from the end of the chart, where picks in the fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds are being swapped hastily. There is less value to be found in these picks, and so a few points of irregularity here or there make a bigger swing in the total percentage of value lost or gained.Of course, another advantage to using the Johnson chart is that there are calculators readily available online to help determine pick value Eric Kush Jersey , and so I only need to check the math--I do not need to do it all by hand myself. The only other chart system that has such convenience is the Chase Stuart chart, and that is simply not a tool that matters when it comes to predicting which picks will be traded for what value.I’ve covered this before, and it remains true. However, there is a third option, and that option comes in the form of the work done by Rich Hill. Hill writes for Windy City Gridiron’s sibling site, Pats Pulpit. Hill has a new chart, more or less reverse-engineered from trades that took place after the new CBA went into effect. It attempts to construct how actual GMs value actual picks, and so it is functionally superior to the theoretical work done by Stuart. Using the sample of the last three years of pick-only trades, and using the version of Hill’s chart available through Drafttek for 2019, we find that Hill is within 5% of the predicted value of picks 55 times, and within 10% of the predicted value 80 times. In other words, he had two more “hits” about the Johnson chart. That’s nice, but it’s also unspectacular. What gives?Hill vs JohnsonTo some extent http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-roquan-smith-jersey , the Hill chart encounters the same problems as the Johnson chart. Essentially, both charts hold up impressively well across the first couple of rounds, but in later rounds things get messier. Most of the big misses involve picks after #150, and they deal with very slim total margins. For example, the Johnson chart only misses by more than 10% on 3 trades out of 32 in the first two rounds. One of these is the ridiculous overpay the Jets made to trade up to spot #3 in 2018, and another is Panthers overpaying to trade with the Seahawks in order to take Greg Little. The final miss? The Bears got too good a deal on their trade to draft Anthony Miller in 2018. Meanwhile, the Hill chart misses with those three picks as well. However, it also misses on other picks at the top of the draft. The Hill chart has the Bears as underpaying the 49ers by a considerable degree (they paid 89% of the Hill chart’s value for #2, whereas the Johnson chart has the Bears/49ers trade as almost a perfect breakeven proposition), and it also has the Bills as overpaying the Bucs by 29% to draft Josh Allen. Additionally, it thinks the Steelers overpaid the Broncos by 18% to take Devin Bush. These three trades are fine by Johnson’s chart. Why the difference? I think Rich Hill is trying too hard to make sense. When he is using past trades to calculate current value, an even mathematical progression of value makes sense. However, GMs do not seem to value picks in the top ten evenly. They place disproportionate value on them Womens Eddie Goldman Jersey , and that means that the steep curve of the Johnson chart is more likely to hold up precisely because it does not make as much “sense” in objective terms.TrendsOn another note, it is worth pointing out that across these three years, the Patriots are the team most likely to give away higher picks for less than what Hill predicts their market value to be, followed closely by the 49ers and the Jets. Obviously, with high-end picks being overvalued by many measures, it makes sense that some teams would accept a lower price. However, just because it seems to work for the Patriots does not mean it is a proven strategy, as the other two teams on that list prove. It’s hard to claim the strategy adopted by San Francisco and New York are netting them impressive results, at least so far. By contrast, it is interesting to note that only one team has multiple trades forward where its GM beat the Hill values over these three years, and that’s the Chicago Bears’ Ryan Pace. On the other side, only one team was able to get an above-predicted return for selling its pick more than once--the Baltimore Ravens. Finally, only the Buffalo Bills overpaid more than once. However Marcus Cooper Jersey , there is not a lot in the way of “pattern” beyond that. Essentially, the Johnson chart, or something like it, holds sway across most of the draft. Rich Hill is getting closer and closer to cracking the code on the new values GMs are using post-2011 CBA.Ultimately, nobody is owning the trade market, but an argument could be made that Ryan Pace is doing a better job than most of his peers in maneuvering through the draft. It is also true that there is no obvious sign that teams succeed or fail on the basis of how they trade. For example, the Patriots have both overpaid to trade up and taken less than market value to trade down. However, they seem to be doing fine. The Bills and Jets have the same pattern, and they cannot boast nearly the same outcomes.

by carving up Jacksonville’s staunch defense. He finished it by playing the eager spectator. After throwing three first-half touchdown passes and picking up only two first downs in the second half Womens Brandon Linder Jersey , he celebrated when the Indianapolis Colts‘ defense delivered the decisive turnover with 90 seconds left to preserve a 29-26 victory over the Jaguars.“We played well enough in the first half to put some points on the board,” Luck said. “Then we survived.”Barely survived, that is.Trailing by three, Jacksonville quickly marched from its 42-yard line into field goal range, and when Rashad Greene Sr. went down at the Colts’ 23, it looked like the Jaguars were already set up for at least a tying field goal. Initially, Greene was ruled down before the ball squirted out.But just before the Jags (3-6) ran the next play, the whistles blew for a booth review. A few minutes later, the call was overturned http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-niles-paul-jersey , giving the ball and the game to the Colts, who have won three straight for the first time in three years.“I thought we got the play off, but obviously, we didn’t,” Jags coach Doug Marrone said before elaborating later. “Personally, I thought it wasn’t a fumble. But I see what everybody sees from the sideline.”Last year’s AFC runner-ups were a popular preseason pick to dethrone New England. Instead, the Jags have lost five straight, six of seven and are last in the division. And they don’t get more painful than this.Jacksonville had an extra point blocked and nearly returned for a 2-point conversion in the first half. Two 15-yard penalties helped Indy score its fourth touchdown, a 1-yard pass from Luck to Mo Alie-Cox late in the second quarter. An offside call on the ensuing extra point prompted coach Frank Reich to go for two Womens Marcell Dareus Jersey , which Marlon Mack punched it in to make it 29-13.Jacksonville kicker Josh Lambo missed his first field goal of the season, a 52-yarder, wide left in the third quarter but then made a 55-yarder to cut the deficit to three with 4:03 left. Finally, Kenny Moore III sealed the Jags’ fate by ripping the ball away from Greene just before his leg went down and Malik Hooker scooped it up.“Offensively we’re looking to improve, put that thing away,” Reich said. “But make no mistake about it: This was a huge win for us.”Luck started fast, hooking up with Eric Ebron on a 53-yard TD pass seven plays into the game. After Donte Moncrief tied it on an 80-yard scoring play, Ebron answered with a 2-yard TD run to make it 14-7. Luck connected with Ebron again on a 12-yard TD pass, giving the tight end a career-high third score with 9:19 left in the first half.Luck finished 21 of 29 with 285 yards Josh Lambo Jersey , one interception and was not sacked.Blake Bortles was 26 of 38 with 320 yards and two TD passes while Leonard Fournette had 53 yards rushing, 56 yards receiving and his first two scores of the season — one on the ground, one through the air.It just wasn’t enough.“It’s a good defense, a lot of respect for that defense,” Luck said. “We certainly weren’t sharp enough.”100<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:View from the sidelines: NFL cheerleaders 2018Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports | Raj MehtaINJURY REPORTJaguars: Center Brandon Linder and offensive tackle Ereck Flowers both left in the third quarter with knee injuries.Colts: Defensive end Carroll Phillips left in the first half with an injured groin. Defensive tackle Grover Stewart left with an injured ankle in the fourth quarter. Neither returned.AUTOMATIC ADAMThe Colts honored the NFL’s new career scoring leader, Adam Vinatieri, before the game with a brief highlight film and the distinction of being the last starter introduced to the crowd, which roared.Vinatieri responded by waving to the crowd and slapping hands with some fans on the field. Then he added three more points to his record-breaking total (2,553) before missing a 52-yard attempt wide right with 2:58 left in the game.He also tied George Blanda for the most regular-season wins in league history (209).STAT PACKJaguars: Fournette had 29 touches http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-taven-bryan-jersey , 24 carries and five receptions, in his third game this season. … Punter Logan Cooke completed a 4-yard pass on a fake field goal, which kept the Jags’ 17-play drive alive to open the second half. The drive ended with Fournette’s 1-yard TD catch.Colts: Ebron finished with three catches for 69 yards. … Jack Doyle and Alie-Cox, Indy’s other two tight ends, combined for five catches and 64 yards. … Rookie Jordan Wilkins broke free for Indy’s longest run of the season (53 yards) in the first half.UP NEXTJaguars: Jacksonville can snap its losing streak next Sunday when it hosts Pittsburgh.Colts: Could get back into the AFC South race by beating Tennessee at home next Sunday. The Jacksonville Jaguars got a little scare on Wednesday with both Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue showing up on the injury report and missing practice, however it sounds like they should be good to go on Sunday against the Houston Texans. If either of or both of those players were to miss the game, it would be a huge blow to the Jaguars defense. Thankfully, both should be good to go and I believe the team will get Marcell Dareus back, who they missed in a big way against the Kansas City Chiefs. With both pass rushers ready to go Womens Justin Blackmon Jersey , it could help give the team a chance to win against a supposedly re-worked Houston Texans offensive line. On Monday Night Football, even with the addition of Laremy Tunsil the Texans offensive line gave up six sacks and quarterback Deshaun Watson dinged his back, though he says it’s perfectly fine. The Jaguars should be able to put a lot of pressure on Watson and control the line of scrimmage on Sunday, especially with their two best defensive lineman ready to go.

Liuget‘s contract http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-hunter-henry-jersey , but he hasn’t ruled out a return to Los Angeles if the “offer is right.”Liuget appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday. The Chargers want to keep Liuget but not for the $4 million roster bonus and $4 million base salary he was slated to make in 2019. Liuget ranks 43rd in ‘s list of top-100 free agents and is expected to draw interest on the free agent market despite coming off an injury.Liuget tore his quadriceps during a November loss to the Broncos, prematurely ended his season. He served a four-game suspension to open the season. Thus Womens Joe Barksdale Jersey , Liuget played only six games last season, making 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He said in his radio interview that his injury should be “80 to 90 percent” healed in two months. Liuget is doing sled work and will increase his running load next week. The Chargers pulled out a stunning 29-28 win on Thursday night that left the AFC West title up for grabs over the final two weeks of the regular season. While the division crown is unsettled Casey Hayward Jersey , the team knows it will be heading to the playoffs one way or another as a result of the win. It’s the first time they’ll be in the postseason since 2013 and tight end Antonio Gates reflected on ending that drought when Thursday night’s game was over.“Very emotional,” Gates said http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-ingram-jersey , via the team’s website. “I think what happens is that you think about all the hard times and the things you had to go through to get to this point. I think that’s what sticks out the most. Any time you’re able to put yourself in a position where you can accomplish certain goals, I think the first thing that comes to mind is the people that did it with you. [The people who] went through the trials and tribulations with you Womens Junior Seau Jersey , and just all the sacrifices you’ve put in, and for me Doug Flutie Jersey , just putting into this organization.”Gates didn’t return to the Chargers until just before the start of this season and has played a limited role for most of the year. He said he was OK with that because he was focused on the “bigger picture” of winning a title. His four catches for 54 yards helped the Chargers take a step in that direction on Thursday.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Nick Foles is in a unique situation Womens Mike Quick Jersey , a Super Bowl MVP trying to lead his team to a second straight championship knowing he will most likely play somewhere else next season.Nothing about what Foles has done for the Philadelphia Eagles is ordinary.“I’m not worried about the future but I understand where I stand and every time I wear that jersey is special,” Foles said Wednesday. “We get one more week together, at least.”The Eagles (10-7) face the New Orleans Saints (13-3) in a NFC divisional playoff game on Sunday thanks to Foles’ heroics in the clutch again. He filled in when Carson Wentz sustained a knee injury in 2017 and led the Eagles to their first NFL title since 1960, going 5-0 in games that he started and finished.Foles returned to the starting lineup after a back injury sidelined Wentz last month and has led the Eagles to four straight wins, including a 16-15 comeback victory at Chicago in the wild-card round. Facing the NFL’s stingiest defense, Foles tossed a 2-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate on fourth down with 56 seconds remaining. But no matter how far Foles can take the Eagles, it probably won’t change his standing on the team. Wentz is the franchise quarterback. He finished third in NFL MVP voting in his second season as a pro. He returned quickly after surgery to repair two torn knee ligaments, started 11 games and posted career highs in completion rate (69.6 percent) and passer rating (102.2) despite battling inconsistency and injury.“He’s the guy we drafted and moving forward, he’s our quarterback,” coach Doug Pederson said, repeating the same thought several times. The Eagles must decide by mid-February if they want to exercise a $20 million option to keep Foles for 2019. That’s a big price to pay a backup, though Wentz is scheduled to make a base salary of $720,000 next season with a salary cap total of about $8.5 million. If the team declines the option, Foles becomes a free agent. If the option is picked up http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-wes-hopkins-jersey , Foles has five days to choose whether to accept it or void it and pay back a $2 million signing bonus. Philadelphia could elect to exercise the option and trade Foles. His salary would become fully guaranteed on March 18, the fifth day of the league year.Wentz is under team control through 2020 and the Eagles could offer him a new long-term deal now before his asking price skyrockets.Although it’s not a debate within the organization, Foles vs. Wentz has dominated conversation among fans and sports talkers.Foles has already won a Super Bowl and he’s 25-12 as a starter in Philadelphia, going back to his first stint with the team from 2012-14. He has the highest winning percentage (.676) in franchise history. While outsiders argue the merits of both, it has not been uncomfortable for two talented quarterbacks who are close friends and share a special bond.“Both guys are brothers in Christ first and foremost so that’s a big part of their relationship,” Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz said.“They understand that football is not the most important thing to them so they relate extremely well in many other things. They’re extremely happy for the other guy’s success.“You don’t find that everywhere. You don’t find that very often on the same team let alone the same position, but that is what’s different about this team. Guys truly care about one another and are happy for the other man’s success.” Expectations aren’t too high for these four Eagles, but they have the potential to be impact players this season." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesBleeding Green Nation homepageHorizontal - WhiteBleeding Green Nationa Philadelphia Eagles communityFollow Bleeding Green Nation online:Follow Bleeding Green Nation on TwitterFollow Bleeding Green Nation on FacebookLog in or sign upLog InSign UpSite searchSearchSearchBleeding Green Nation main menuFanpostsFanshotsEaglesOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 321 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Eagles StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Eagles NewsYahoo Eagles Team PageYahoo Eagles ReportYahoo Eagles Depth ChartYahoo Eagles TransactionsYahoo Eagles PhotosOdds About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub ✕Four key Eagles who could be huge cogs in 2019New,58commentsExpectations aren’t too high for these four Eagles, but they have the potential to be impact players this season.EDTEvery successful Eagles season always has a few surprises. In 2017, Corey Clement burst onto the scene and made some huge plays down the stretch and in the postseason and, of course, Nick Foles caught fire and won Super Bowl MVP. Last year, with the secondary in flames Wilbert Montgomery Jersey , Avonte Maddox, Cre’Von LeBlanc and Rasul Douglas stepped up and provided enough stability to help the Eagles go on a playoff run. This year, if the Birds are going to go on another Super Bowl run, they’re going to need some unheralded players to step up. Below are three who have their flaws and question marks, but also a tremendous upside that could help the team soar in 2019.Boston Scott - RBTwo weeks ago, Corey Clement seemed to be the obvious choice to be the Eagles’ No. 3 back, were he healthy enough. But Clement hasn’t been able to get on the field, and that has given players like Boston Scott a chance to shine and potentially take Clement’s job. Scott has shown a solid ability to catch the ball so far this off-season, and getting a comp to the great Darren Sproles is certainly a feather in his cap. Scott, who played for Louisiana Tech and was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 6th round of last year’s draft, was signed by the team in Week 15 of last year from New Orleans’ practice squad. He rushed for 1,840 yards and 14 TDs during his college career and was a return specialist as well.Scott appears to be the front-runner to get the first reps as the Eagles’ punt returner (kick returning in the NFL generally doesn’t exist anymore) and if Pederson’s accolades are any indication, he could enter the season as the team’s No. 3 running back.Corey Clement - RBCorey Clement was never quite right last season. The undrafted free agent surprised everyone in ‘17 when he rushed for 321 yards and 4 TDs and caught four balls for 100 yards and a TD in Super Bowl 52. Last year, he was expected to be a major part of the running game Womens Harold Carmichael Jersey , but as injuries sidelined Darren Sproles and Jay Ajayi, Clement was dealing with nagging injuries of his own and rushed for only 259 yards last season, just 3.8 yards per attempt. He also caught just 22 balls out of the backfield, and saw his yards per reception drop from 12.3 his rookie season to 8.7.Clement has now become an afterthought, battling Wendell Smallwood for the No. 4 running back job. Jordan Howard, added via trade, will get most of the carries on the ground, Miles Sanders, one of the team’s second-round picks this year, is expected to get a lot of action on the ground and in the passing game, too, and now Scott is essentially being groomed as Sproles’ replacement.Clement never seemed to be totally healthy last season and, so far this off-season, Clement’s injuries are still a concern. He hasn’t practiced with the team yet http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-randall-cunningham-jersey , and that’s a worry. But if he can get healthy, he’s shown an ability to make plays, especially out of the backfield as a receiver. He also has more experience in this offense, so a return to his late-season 2017 self could be a huge key for an offense that clearly needs production from the backfield in order to succeed.Sidney JonesWhen Sidney Jones was preparing for the 2017 NFL Draft, he was a consensus first round pick. But then he tore his Achilles in pre-draft workouts and the Eagles spent a second round pick on Jones, red-shirting him for his rookie season in the NFL.After a long road back to the field, Jones missed large portions of last year, playing in just nine games and, when he did play, he wasn’t terribly effective. He certainly didn’t play up to the level of a potential first round draft pick. But so far this off-season, Eagles coaches are high on his performance. The Eagles have a loaded group of cornerbacks already. Jalen Mills, Ronald Darby, Rasul Douglas, Cre’Von LeBlanc and Avonte Maddox can all play. But the talent is there for Jones to be better than all of these players and Ron Jaworski Jersey , if he reaches his ceiling, could be an impact player in Jim Schwartz’ secondary.Andrew SendejoIt was two seasons ago Sendejo was rated as the 11th best safety in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, but all we remember is him getting steamrolled by LeGarrette Blount during the Eagles’ 38-7 dismantling of Minnesota in the NFC Championship Game. Last year, Sendejo started the first five games before a groin injury ended his season. He was signed by the Eagles this off-season and the assumption has been that he could be cut so the Birds could get back the compensatory draft pick they would lose if they were to keep him. However, Schwartz has already given the veteran hard-hitter a nickname “Dejo,” and you generally don’t do that if you’re going to cut the guy in a couple months. Schwartz has also specifically singled out Sendejo’s performance this spring. His role on the team remains unclear, but Sendejo has the ability to be an impact stopper against the run, if he can stay healthy.

Womens Marqise Lee Jersey , Brandon Linder don’t practice Wednesday The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without their two best players on offense in practice on Wednesday as both offensive lineman Brandon Linder and running back Leonard Fournette were held out.According to Phillip Heilman of the Florida Times-Union, the plan is to sit Linder out of practice every Wednesday this season. But Fournette’s absence was not planned.I wouldn’t worry too much about either Linder or Fournette. The team said on Monday they were “optimistic” about Fournette playing on Sunday against the New England Patriots and if/when Linder is back tomorrow it will all be forgotten.Additional injured (but practicing) players include rookie linebacker Leon Jacobs, right tackle Jermey Parnell, wide receiver Jaydon Mickens, and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins. CINCINNATI BENGALS (6-10)OPEN CAMP: July 26, Cincinnati (first practice in Dayton, Ohio on July 27)LAST YEAR: Coach Marvin Lewis was fired after a 16th season without a playoff win, and 36-year-old Zac Taylor was hired in a notable shift for the franchise. The offense was one of the league's worst again, with Andy Dalton and A.J. Green suffering significant injuries. The defense was by some measures the worst in team history. The Bengals slipped behind intrastate rival Cleveland and finished last in the AFC North for the first time since 2010. In the offseason, the Bengals essentially kept intact a roster that's coming off three straight losing seasons Telvin Smith Jersey , though troublesome linebacker Vontaze Burfict was released.IMPORTANT ADDITIONS: Taylor, offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, OT Jonah Williams, G John Miller, CB B.W. Webb, TE Drew Sample, LB Germaine Pratt, QB Ryan Finley, G Michael Jordan.IMPORTANT LOSSES: Lewis and both coordinators http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-t.j.-yeldon-jersey , G Clint Boling, LB Vincent Rey, DE Michael Johnson, TE Tyler Kroft, OT Andre Smith, OT Cedric Ogbuehi, OT Jake Fisher, Burfict.CAMP NEEDS: The offense will be learning its third system in three years, and the defense is on its fourth coordinator in three years, so there's a lot of adjusting going on. The offensive line is the biggest issue at the outset Womens Ronnie Harrison Jersey , as it was the two previous years as well. The Bengals took Jonah Williams with the 11th overall pick and expected him to start at left tackle, but a shoulder injury during offseason workouts required surgery and could sideline him the entire season. Boling, the left guard, retired because of a blood clot one week before the start of camp, leaving the line in a familiar state of flux.EXPECTATIONS: Taylor has never been a head coach. He's growing into an unfamiliar role while also planning to call plays during games, something he did with the Dolphins for five games in 2015. The coordinators haven't served a full season in their roles, either. The Bengals had to wait until after the Super Bowl to hire Taylor from the Rams, leaving them to assemble a coaching staff on the fly. Given all the newness and change, the Bengals will be a work in progress all season as they try to escape the basement. They haven't finished last in consecutive seasons since 2001-02.

that he had a conversation with former Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt and that he was “raised to give guys second chances http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-joel-iyiegbuniwe-jersey ,” which immediately led to people wondering if the Bears will be in the market for Hunt’s services in 2019.The Bears tried to pump the brakes on that by saying that they’re “not there yet,” but one player on the team said that Hunt’s addition wouldn’t be an issue in the locker room. Wide receiver Allen Robinson said he didn’t know all the details of the incidents that led to Hunt being placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list, but has had good interactions with him in the past.“From when I met [him] and everything like that, for us to bring him into our locker room, I think guys would welcome him with open arms,” Robinson said, via the . “He’d be one of us. … A guy they’d bring into our locker room would be our brother.”NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said during Super Bowl week that the league’s investigation into Hunt should wrap up soon. He didn’t predict a suspension, but it seems highly likely that he’ll be unavailable for at least some of the 2019 season. With Tarik Cohen and Jordan Howard on hand, that might not be a deal breaker for the Bears if bringing Hunt to Chicago is on the table. Due to team need, Adderley was moved to a safety spot and enjoyed an even more productive final two years for the Blue Hens.In his final two seasons, he collected nine interceptions en route to back-to-back first team All-CAA selections and second team FCS All-American honors in 2018.The 6-foot-0, 206-pound defender also offers some value on special teams where he averaged 29.8 yards on kickoffs and returned one for a touchdown.Adderley possesses some of the best hips of any defensive backs. His highlight reel is littered with smooth transitions out of his back pedals and elite closing speed when breaking on passes that happen to float a little too long in the air. His ball-skills from playing cornerback are extremely apparent as he is comfortable hauling in interceptions from all angles. The FCS product will be an instant upgrade for the Chargers’ defense and should be the favorite to win the starting free safety position once the regular seasons rolls around. After last Sunday’s performance at home Philip Rivers Jersey , I don’t know how much worse things can get. The Chargers are in a position of winning on Sunday or else they bring on an avalanche of questions about this coaching staff and the direction of the team heading into their new stadium (hopefully) next season.Beating a third-string quarterback, handedly, would be a solid step in the right direction. The Chargers are still fairly healthy on the defensive side of the ball and the offense is likely to get Hunter Henry back in a limited fashion this week. All arrows are point up, but nothing is ever safe until it actually happens. With that being said, here are the three biggest themes that I’ll be watching for when the Chargers host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Dignity Health Sports Park.1.) The Chargers cannot underestimate QB Devlin HodgesWith back-up quarterback Mason Rudolph likely coming back slowly from a nasty hit by Ravens safety Earl Thomas, the Steelers are forced to turn to rookie signal-caller Devlin Hodges out of FCS Samford University. Now, I know what you’re probably thinking: “He’s a third-string quarterback who didn’t even play at the highest level! This should be a piece of cake!Well, no. Remember which team you are rooting for. The Chargers are notorious for playing down/up to the level of competition in front of them. Last week being a great example. After Rudolph went down this past Sunday, Hodges stepped in and didn’t look like much of a drop-off in talent. He finished the game with seven completions on nine pass attempts for 68 yards. He also took two carries for an additional 20 yards. While at Samford, he was ELECTRIC on the field. Hodges was a three-time member of the First-Team All-SoCon squad and a three-time SoCon Offensive Player of the Year. As a senior, Hodges took home the Walter Payton Award, which is the FCS’ version of the Heisman Trophy. He is by no means a stranger to putting up yards and points Womens Kellen Winslow Jersey , finishing his collegiate career with 14,584 yards (an FCS career record previously held by Steve McNair) and 111 touchdown passes. If the Chargers get torched by this man on Sunday, there will be much bigger things to worry about for coaching staff than playing the Titans the following week.2.) Will Melvin Gordon see an increased workload after falling flat against Denver? This is probably my biggest worry heading into Sunday night. After returning from his holdout, Gordon looked like a guy who missed several months when he made his debut against the Broncos.Gordon got the start and lead the backfield in carries with 12. This number would have likely been more if the Chargers didn’t fall behind 14-0 in the first quarter. Those 12 carries went for just 31 rushing yards as the fifth-year back looked indecisive and hesitant at the line of scrimmage. He also caught four passes from Rivers but could only manage seven receiving yards on the day.Ekeler was limited to just three carries for seven yards, but made his mark as a reliable receiving threat, catching a team-record 15 passes for 86 yards. And yes, those numbers are correct. This past Sunday, Ekeler became the first player in NFL history to catch a 15 passes in a game while simultaneously finishing with less than 90 receiving yards. At the end of the game, Ekeler did out-touch Gordon 18-16, but it was incredibly evident that they were trying to force the ball to Gordon early which put the Bolts behind the chains far too often to start the game.To make matters worse, I received a notification from my ESPN fantasy app two days ago. This notification, to my dismay http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-lance-alworth-jersey , stated that Gordon is likely to see an increased workload against the Steelers according ESPN’s Stephania Bell.WHY?!?!Everyone and their mother could see that the team’s dedication to Gordon getting touches was affecting the entire team’s performance. If this week looks to be more of the same, I will have to SERIOUSLY question Anthony Lynn’s decision-making capabilities going forward in 2019 and beyond.3.) The Chargers MUST start hot to avoid anymore second-half collapses. This season, week two against the Detroit Lions was the only game in the first month that the Chargers failed to score 17 points in the first half. In week two, they scored 10. This past Sunday, they scored zero which ended a streak of 55-straight games that the team had scored in the first half.If the Chargers weren’t inept at scoring points in the second half of all those games, the team could easily be 3-2, maybe 4-1. That, and Rivers’ three interceptions thrown in the end zone have been the catalysts for this horrid start to the season.Starting hot out of the gate would also put a lot more pressure on Hodges in his first NFL start. If the Chargers can force him to make all the decision and essentially put the entire game on his back, the Bolts will walk away with a victory on Sunday night.

Though they didn’t lose too many individual battles, it was a lack of communication and discipline that hurt the Chargers’ front five. Under the Joey Galloway precedent (which as far as we can tell has never been mentioned by ESPN in this context ), Gordon needs to be on the roster for eight games to satisfy the final year of his contract and become a free agent.Coupled with the team’s ability to utilize a roster exemption of up to three weeks, and given the timing of the team’s bye, this puts the ideal target at the period between Week Five and Week Six.That’s what we wrote on Sunday morning: Gordon’s safest play will be to report after the Week Five game against the Broncos and before the Week Six game against the Steelers.Maybe Gordon’s camp is finally getting their arms around the Galloway precedent. Maybe they were listening to the erroneous assessments of when he needed to report in order to become a free agent in 2020. Maybe they finally read the Galloway grievance ruling and realized that, as applied to the team’s schedule, he needs to show up in 12 days.Regardless, it sounds like someone is finally waking up to the reality that Virgil Green Jersey , if Gordon wants to avoid having his contract toll for a year, the safest play will be to show up before Week Six.

Since Mike Wallace went down with an ankle injury in Week 2 of 2018, the base has been clamoring for a true deep threat. Some thought the answer would come in the 2019 NFL Draft. It turned out, it came via trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Howie Roseman, the Checker of Boxes, checked yet another box. Color me shocked.Considering his past with the Philadelphia Eagles, there’s less heavy lifting to do familiarizing you, gentle reader, with the value Jackson brings. His ability to “take the top off” a defense is well known and from what we’re seeing at minicamp, he’s still got his trademark burners. The question then becomes, how can the Eagles deploy Jackson to achieve the best results? Before digging into the specifics on Jackson Womens Timmy Jernigan Jersey , we need to have a talk about wide receiver splits. When you think about a non-slot receiver, you might picture a player lined up 2-3 yards outside of the numbers. The term for that alignment is a “plus split”.Image via Bleacher Report, Matt BowenThere are advantages and disadvantages to this alignment. It’s easier to get a receiver isolated on a cornerback when he’s far away from the action, but it also demands certain releases depending on the route. For example - when working from a plus split - an outside release limits the potential routes. Typically it’s reduced to a go and a comeback. That’s not a lot of variety. Any other routes in the tree require a hard inside release at the line. From a “numbers split”, where the receiver lines up on or at the top of the numbers painted on the field, a receiver has more freedom and space. The rules for releases are less stringent and there’s a bigger area in which to work out-breaking routes.Image via Bleacher Report, Matt BowenThen there’s the “nasty split”. I made the case for the Eagles to use more of these after the Golden Tate trade. With both Tate and Nelson Agholor on the roster, it made sense to provide two slot receivers with splits that played to their strengths of their skill sets and essentially replicated slot alignments. Basically, a “nasty split” brings a receiver inside the numbers and close to the core of the formation, giving them access to a wider variety of routes with multi-directional optionality.Image via Bleacher Report Stefen Wisniewski Jersey , Matt BowenAn additional benefit of a nasty split, as Matt Bowen noted in his article for Bleacher Report, is that “the defense always has to be alert to the reverse or “ghost action” (fake reverse).”From 2017-2018, Jackson aligned as an outside receiver on 81% of his routes. But as I’ve noted above, not all outside alignments are created equally. Breaking down where Jackson’s explosive plays (20+ yards) were created in that same time frame, the stats present a much different picture.Plus Split: 6 receptions for 191 yardsNumbers Split: 5 receptions for 175 yardsNasty Split: 8 receptions for 261 yardsSlot Alignment: 4 receptions for 129 yardsSo if Jackson ran 81% of his routes as an “outside receiver”, it’s notable that only 26% of his explosive plays came from a plus split. Compare that with a traditional “X” like Alshon Jeffery, who compared to Jackson has over double of his big plays come from out wide (58%). As a side bar, this adds to the case that Jackson should receive more work in the slot. But we want the Eagles to be a heavy 12 personnel team, and we want them to utilize Zach Ertz in the slot in those sets http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-carson-wentz-jersey , so let’s focus on the outside reps for Jackson. How can the Eagles keep him on the outside and still allow him to work from reduced splits? The reasons in favor of running more condensed sets are numerous. They often dictate coverage deployments, forcing teams into more zone match or banjo coverages. Unlike Nick Foles, who thrives against man coverage, Carson Wentz has had more success against zone. So already you’re helping your quarterback by demanding a coverage type that lends itself to his strengths.Playing zone against condensed sets is preferred due to the high likelihood of pick/rub routes and it also makes life easier for linebackers who can read step at the snap and then work to their responsibility. Teams can take advantage of that read step with play-action concepts, but that’s a novel for another day.Playing pure man against these sets are suicide, but if you add “banjo” or switch coverages that react to the releases of the receivers, it can be done. Still, that adds stress on a defense due to the communication and cooperation involved. If a switch goes wrong post-snap, it can lead to disastrous results. The New Orleans Saints are particularly advanced at attacking banjo coverages, as demonstrated by one of my favorite red zone concepts from 2018.What these sets also do is they often provide off coverage. Jackson is no slouch at beating press Womens Isaac Seumalo Jersey , but given the choice I’d rather have him attacking a player giving him a healthy cushion rather than not. Granted, Jackson is likely to receive a cushion anyway as he consistently receives the most room from defenders per Next Gen Stats. That type of distance at the snap can create opportunities for curls from plus splits and a bevy of routes from reduced splits. For example, this “blaze out”, which threatens a post before breaking off to the outside, would not be possible from a plus split.Along with all the other benefits, there’s also the possibility that bringing Jackson in will get him matched up with a safety. Not only will that safety have to read the action in front of him, but he’ll then have to turn and run with one of the fastest players in the league. Any misstep or hesitation from said safety leads to an easy six, as demonstrated in the video below. The concept of condensed sets isn’t new to the NFL, you can thank Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams for that. Dominique Foxworth pointed this out in the lead up to the Super Bowl. There are downsides for the Eagles when it comes to compacting the offense. It modifies the run game and also brings more defenders in and around the box, which could negatively effect or limit their RPO menu. I’m also not arguing that the Eagles become the Rams by relying on those sets to such a high degree. I’m simply saying that for the Eagles to fully exploit Jackson’s skill set and dynamic playmaking ability Chuck Bednarik Jersey , they should consider getting a little nasty with him. The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced some roster moves on Tuesday evening. The team waived wide receiver/punt returner DeAndre Carter in order to make room for defensive tackle T.Y. McGill. This marks the second time Carter has been waived by the Eagles this season. It’s unfortunate because the 25-year-old was a great story coming out of training camp. He also showed flashes in the regular season by averaging 10.3 yards per return on 10 attempts. Carter’s 42-yard return against the Titans in Week 4 helped the Eagles kick a late field goal to tie the game and send the contest into overtime. But alas, Carter is gone once again. The Eagles didn’t feel like they needed a sixth wide receiver after acquiring Golden Tate in a trade last week. One would imagine Carter’s dismissal also bodes well for the possibility of Darren Sproles’ return. The 35-year-old is expected to field punts upon his return. As for McGill, the Eagles have shown interest in him multiple times this season. They originally tried to claim him on waivers back in September but they got beaten out by the Chargers. The Eagles then did sign him when he later became available in October but he was waived shortly after due to a failed physical. Now he’s presumably healthy enough to contribute. The Eagles added McGill because they felt like they needed more depth at defensive tackle due to Fletcher Cox, Haloti Ngata, and Treyvon Hester being the only full-time players at their position on the 53-man roster. Adding McGill likely means Tim Jernigan won’t be activated to the roster this week, which isn’t a shock. He was only cleared to return to practice on Monday. The Eagles have 21 days from yesterday to promote Jernigan to the active roster. McGill could be a goner if/when Jernigan is ready to play.

I don’t know any names or targets off the top of my head at this current moment, but the first thing I thought of on Sunday was... are they realistically going to get anyone good considering the circumstances.Based on this snippet from Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s statement released yesterday http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-andrew-norwell-jersey , it sounds like the 2019 season is a do or die season. To me, personally, that sounds like another losing season in 2019 won’t be acceptable. All three of Marrone, Caldwell and Coughlin are under contract through the 2021 season, but if the edict is to win next year... how do you make an offensive coordinator hire for that with all the uncertainty.First of all, the position could potentially be a one-and-done proposition. That’s not an attractive option, especially considering the work that needs to be done on the offensive side of the football. Not only could it be a one-and-done Womens Abry Jones Jersey , but you have uncertainty at the quarterback position. The Jaguars may have a plan to sell whoever they hire for the position, but they won’t be able to actually execute that plan until well after they make a hire. Will it be a top tier veteran like Nick Foles? Joe Flacco? Tyrod Taylor? Will it be a first round pick? A mid-round pick? You don’t know what your offensive line is going to look like, seeing as 3/5’s of it ended the season on injured reserve and the other two positions will have to be filled. What’s going to happen at the running back position? Will you have Leonard Fournette? Carlos Hyde? A draft pick? A new free agent? What about tight ends and receivers? It’s a leap of faith right now to take the Jaguars offensive coordinator job because there isn’t much certainty. Usually that’s not going to net you a good crop of willing candidates and/or will force you to take huge risks. Most likely you’ll end up with a recently fired head coach looking to get their name back into the ring for head coaching positions.

Tickets will have the price of a Divisional game, with a refund issuing the difference coming if it is a Wild Card game instead. At the moment, the Bears are the NFC’s No. 3 seed and would host the NFC North rival Vikings in a Wild Card matchup: the third time the two would have met over the course of the 2018 season. Barring a collapse by the Saints (Steelers and Panthers at home) or Rams (Cardinals on the road, 49ers at home) in their remaining schedules, it looks like the only thing that could truly change for the Bears is whoever they play as the No. 3 seed. It would take an inexplicable downfall for the Bears to have the No. 4 Cowboys leapfrog them (losing their last two games and Dallas winning out). Whatever the case, the Bears’ first playoff trip in eight years is real, not imagined. If you have the spare money and time, you can make it even more real with your own ticket stub. The Chicago Bears couldn’t have asked for a sweeter scenario. That’s exactly the opportunity they’re staring at when they host Aaron Rodgers and the fading Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.“It would be very exciting,” quarterback Mitchell Trubisky said. “We know this is a big week for us, and a lot comes with it.”More Packers coverage from FOX Sports WisconsinPhotos of the Week: 7/21/19 – 7/27/19Packers rookie Gary’s biggest critic is himselfTop Tweets: Former Badger TJ Watt has impressive four-year transformationPHOTOS: 2019 Green Bay Packers training campPackers’ Rodgers, LaFleur ironing out offense, building chemistryWith six wins in the past seven games, the division championship and a playoff spot are just about in hand.A win over the Packers (5-7-1) would clinch the North for the Bears (9-4). So would a loss by Minnesota to Miami. And ties by both the Bears and the Vikings would do the trick, too.Even if they don’t clinch the division, they could still secure a playoff spot on Sunday. In that case, a tie against Green Bay — or a tie or loss by Washington against Jacksonville — would send Chicago to the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 team won the NFC North.Of course, with a victory comes this added bonus: beating Green Bay. It would also give the Bears a measure of revenge for that season-opening gut punch at Lambeau Field Womens Trey Burton Jersey , when Rodgers got carted off the field with a left knee injury and came back to lead the Packers from 20 down to a 24-23 victory.“It’s a special moment in my career,” Rodgers said. “It is the Bears, and the injury I was dealing with and the pain and 20-0 and coming back and winning that game. It seems a long time ago, standing here in Week 15, but that was a good moment for us. It’s a better moment when you parlay those into big-time winning seasons and championship runs, but it was a special moment for sure.”The teams’ fortunes sure have changed since. The Bears have emerged as a force in the NFC in their first season under coach Matt Nagy after four straight last-place finishes. The Packers fired Mike McCarthy in his 13th season two weeks ago and made offensive coordinator Joe Philbin the interim head coach, hoping to jolt a team in danger of missing the playoffs for the second straight year. The Packers won his debut , beating the Atlanta Falcons 34-20. The Bears beat the NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams 15-6 last week, with their defense squashing one of the NFL’s most prolific offenses. Here are some things to know with Chicago on the verge of securing a playoff spot and Green Bay’s hopes fading:STREAK VS. STRENGTHIt’s a case of a streak vs. strength when Rodgers faces Chicago’s turnover-happy defense. The Bears are first in the NFL in turnover margin at plus-13. Rodgers hasn’t thrown a pick since Week 4, when his pass over the middle for Jimmy Graham was deflected twice before being intercepted by Bills safety Jordan Poyer on second-and-4 from the Packers 49. It’s the only interception this season for Rodgers. Since then he’s had 368 straight attempts without an interception to set an NFL record.“Yeah, you know hopefully it stays that way,” Philbin said as he knocked on a wooden podium for good luck. The Packers are plus-2 in turnover margin Cody Parkey Jersey , tied for 14th in the league.7<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:Upon Further Review: Packers vs. FalconsBenny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports | Benny SieuROAD WOESWith an 0-6 road record and eight straight losses dating to last season, the Packers sure have experienced difficulties away from Lambeau Field. That’s something they hope to change against Chicago. The Packers have won nine of the past 10 meetings overall. They also have an eight-game winning streak at Soldier Field, counting the postseason.COMFORT AT HOMEWhile the Packers have struggled on the road, the Bears are 6-1 at Soldier Field. That gives them their highest win total at home since going 6-2 in 2008. And if they beat Green Bay, the Bears would finish 7-1 at home for the first time since 2005.Also, Nagy’s nine victories are the most by a coach in his first season with the Bears since Paddy Driscoll led the 1956 team to a 9-2-1 mark.TURNOVER TIMESpeaking of turnovers, the Packers’ defense has been hit or miss when it comes to takeaways. Cornerback Bashaud Breeland accounted for both of Green Bay’s takeaways last week with an interception return for a touchdown and fumble recovery, though the latter came on a botched shotgun snap. Still, the win over the Falcons ended a two-week stretch without a takeaway.OFFENSIVE OUTPUTThe Bears would certainly welcome a better showing from Trubisky. He struggled against Los Angeles after missing back-to-back games because of a right shoulder injury, with a season-high three interceptions and a 33.3 rating that was his lowest of the year. One positive for the Bears’ offense: Jordan Howard running for a season-high 101 yards.12<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:PHOTOS: Packers vs. FalconsJeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports | Jeff Hanisch—GREEN BAY (5-7-1) at CHICAGO (9-4)Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FoxOPENING LINE — Bears by 6RECORD VS.
